SS Scientific is the centre for service and support of the range of pyrolysis mass spectrometers originally manufacture by Horizon Instruments (UK) in the 1990's.

RAPyD-400

The RAPyD-400 benchtop automated pyrolysis mass spectrometer brings more applications within easy reach of scientists whose primary interest is to discriminate between very similar samples.

The system is entirely automated with sample loading, extraction, indexing to the next sample and data collection under the control of a PC.  A high level of onboard diagnostics, a continuously updated status output, and self-protection in both hardware and software will assist the non mass spectrometrist in day to day running.  Routine servicing and maintenance is minimal, with the ion source of the mass spectrometer being pluggable to facilitate easy cleaning.

Data is analysed with the onboard suite of multivariate statistical routines giving principal components analysis, discriminant function analysis, cluster analysis and factor spectra.  Data output is extremely informative and well presented with emphasis on clarity and good laboratory practice.  The use of 3D graphics for cluster separation is particularly useful with large complex data sets.
